The Neighbourhood Plan Steering Group has applied to Locality – My Community for a grant to fund the development of the Plaistow & Ifold Parish – Neighbourhood Plan. Locality, the trading name of Locality (UK), was formed in April 2011 by the merger of bassac and the Development Trusts Association, two leading networks of community owned and led organisations. Locality Grant applied for: £9,000.00 (Funding professional consultancy fees (Colin Smith Planning); advertising, printing, postage and hall hire)
Issues our plan needs to address? Housing; Natural environment; Built heritage; Community facilities; Design standards
Reasons we told Locality we need the grant: The Parish Council precept was defined before these expenses were identified and from our research this Parish is not entitled to any other grant.
How it will the grant help our plan move forward?: It will allow the Parish Council to engage the expertise necessary to guide and develop appropriate planning policies and draft Plan; to scrutinise our evidence base and to progress the Neighbourhood Plan at a more expedient rate to enable us to meet an informal review with Chichester District Council. Prior to the formal consultation exercise under Regulation 14, carried out by the Parish Council, it is intended to share the draft Neighbourhood Plan with Chichester District Council in order that they are kept advised of our progress.
Technical Support: The Steering Group have also applied for free technical support in the area of Site Assessments / Sustainability. This element is separate to the grant and if the Parish is awarded the support, it will be provided AECOM, a consultancy partner of Locality.
